Today we assessed the value of inclusive interaction, looked at what a modern sword fight was, adapted for people with cerebral palsy and musculoskeletal disorders, watched delegates prepare dishes with their eyes closed and express their emotions from Congress through colors.
In the gym of the Regional Rehabilitation Center For Disabled in Russia. Modern sword fight of Russia Svetlana Pavlikova and Lyubov Sablina conducted classes in this sport. With the help of a sword and a shield, made of soft polymer materials, the participants of the master class worked out strokes and tricks of defense. The modern sword fight develops coordination, endurance, sense of balance, and reaction speed. Svetlana has cerebral palsy. And if before she could not take a step back, rise or go down the stairs without support, then today she performs these actions without much effort. «We see a clear result, so we want to develop this sport in different regions of our country and bring it to the international level», - Lyubov Sablina said.
In the training kitchen of the Regional Center, delegates wielded knives with blindfolded eyes. Participants prepared a national Russian dish «kurnik», getting acquainted not only with the new recipe, but also experiencing new sensations.
Thomas Freivald, the teacher of the school for children and adolescents with special needs in Germany, suggested that congress delegates evaluate the value of inclusive interaction. Through artistic-therapeutic and eurythmic exercises, participants learned to transmit and receive information, and also to feel their partner territorially.
In the lobby of the fifth floor of the rehabilitation center there was a painstaking work with the use of paints and brushes. Delegates expressed their feelings and emotions from the Congress and directly from the logo of the event through creativity. The process was built on the principle of «social painting»: on one large sheet of paper everyone began to create their own small masterpiece, then all the participants moved in a circle and supplemented the drawings of their neighbors. And so several times.
Participants understood the responsibility of what was happening, because it was necessary not to spoil what others had started. Masterclass on the creation of the logo was conducted by the Swiss Oyhannes Marsay, social therapist, teacher of labor and technology at the Novalis Gymnasium for teenagers with behavioral and developmental characteristics.
